Prostate Cancer Canada’s Do It For Dads Walk/Run

On Father’s Day Sunday, June 15th, PCCN Calgary will participate in the “Do it for Dads Walk Run”. To donate, please go to PCCN Calgary for a link to the PCCN Calgary Warriors team.

The Do it for Dads Walk Run is a fun, family-friendly event, hosted on Father’s Day in cities across Canada. The Dark Side Racing Top Fuel Dragster will once again be on display at the Eau Claire Market-Festival Square as part of the PCCN Calgary entourage. PCCN Calgary’s goal is to have a presence where ever prostates gather, and time and time again the Dark Side Racing Top Fuel Dragster has proven it has an uncanny ability to attract prostates.

Come for the run/walk, or come to see a race car that leaves the starting line with a force nearly 5 times that of gravity – the same force of the Space Shuttle when it leaves the launching pad at Cape Canaveral!! But please be sure to bring a toonie so you can purchase a raffle ticket to help support PCCN Calgary.

Dark Side Racing, in conjunction with our team sponsor Harley Davidson of Calgary, will be hosting a raffle fundraiser during the 2014 Season. The raffle is in support of PCCN Calgary (Prostate Cancer Canada Network Calgary).

When Castrol Raceway announced their Inaugural IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals, Dark Side Racing took it on as a personal challenge. We had a nine month lead time to assemble a complete Top Fuel racing operation and the clock was ticking. To us, the real race was the race that would get us to the starting line. We purchased a trailer and Crew Cab Dually (Thank You, Shaganappi GM) so that we could make the trip to Omaha Nebraska and purchase the Top Fuel Chassis. A few days before the event, we fired up our Top Fuel motor for the first time and come race day we made the fourth quickest pass of the event (13 Top Fuel dragsters showed up). With barely a spare part to our name, we accomplished our goal and made it to the end of the track.

IHRA has unveiled their new Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series for 2014 and announced their return to “competition”. This time around, Dark side Racing finds ourselves nine months ahead of schedule! We’ve armed ourselves with a new goal “Let’s win this damn race!” We’ve already assembled a rambunctious group of talented and dedicated crew members, which means all that’s left is to acquire is a short list of spare parts. Dark Side Racing will look to our Team Sponsors (old and new) for the assistance that will enable us to aggressively test and train for the next nine months and achieve our goal of bringing home the Ironman!
