August 11, 2015 Dark Side Racing was on display at Blackjacks Road House for a pre-Hot August Night Display and Engine Fire up and Terry Evans – K-97’s morning show host – had the seat of honor in the cockpit our 8,000 horse power Top Fuel Dragster. Special thanks to Clarence Shields (owner of Blackjacks) and everyone who came out. It was truly a fantastic evening! Castrol Raceway’s Hot August Night August 12 was Hot August Night and Rob and Kimberly Reeves hosted another massively successful event. Great cars and great weather attracted a capacity crowd for this highly anticipated Wednesday night drag racing extravaganza. Dark Side Racing was proud to be part of the show!

Thunder in the Valley Things will really heat up in Drayton Valley as the community hosts the 11th annual Thunder in the Valley Drag Race on Sept 4-6. Organizers of Thunder in the Valley are very pleased to announce that the race surface has been repaired. As a result, they are preparing for 8,000+ spectators and approx. 300 cars! Besides a great Show & Shine on Saturday and fireworks Saturday night, you’ll be guaranteed exciting action all weekend! Special treats are the live bands performing at the Beer Gardens: Black Water Crude on Friday night and Sail with Kings on Saturday night. We hope to see you there!

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and in an effort to do our part to help promote awareness to the disease, PROSTAID Calgary’s Executive Director, Stewart Campbell, reached out to Calgary’s Mayoral office as well as Mayors and Reeves from 10 surrounding Calgary communities. Each Mayor/City Council was invited to get involved and make the official proclamation on behalf of their city or town: “September 2015 is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month” PROSTAID Calgary is both proud and elated that Mayor Naheed Nenshi is on board and will make the proclamation early in September.
