Oil Pans B/RB ( stock )

Chrysler used many different styles of pans and associated pickups over the years. Most trucks/vans/motorhomes use either a front or rear sump version, while most cars use a center sump design. Some pans were available either with or without a baffle welded inside around the sump area.

For oil pickup tubes to match the pans listed below, – Oil Pickups

“402” oil pan – Chrysler part number 2532401. This pan was used on most 1966-71 “B” and “E” bodies with high performance 383’s and 440’s.

“402” oil pan, Chrysler part number 2532401. See the table at the bottom of this page for exact applications, but in general, this pan was used on most 1966-71 “B” and “E” bodies with high performance 383’s and 440’s.

“971” oil pan, Chrysler part number 3614970. See the table at the bottom of this page for exact applications, but in general, this pan was used from 1973 until the end of production on standard and high performance 400’s and 440’s.

“933” oil pan, Chrysler part number 3751934. See the table at the bottom of this page for exact applications, but in general, this pan was used from 1974 until the end of production on “C” body cars with high performance 400’s and 440’s.

“187” oil pan, Chrysler part number 2532186. See the table at the bottom of this page for exact applications, but in general, this pan was used from 1965-71 on “C” body cars with 383’s and 440’s. These make a great pan for swapping big block’s into “A” bodies because of the notch for suspension clearance.

“699” oil pan, Chrysler part number 3671697. See the table at the bottom of this page for exact applications, but in general, this pan was used from 1972-73 on “C” body cars with 383’s and 440’s. This part is physically identical to the 187 pan, and versions can be found with or without an internal welded oil baffle. These make a great pan for swapping big block’s into “A” bodies because of the notch for suspension clearance.

Rear sump truck pan. This setup cannot use a regular style dipstick, since the area in the block where the dipstick fits is not over the oil sump area, so a special dipstick must be used which threads directly into the side of the oil pan. Be careful not to confuse these pans with front sump pans. One easy way to tell the difference is that rear sump pans will have the drain plug on the back of the pan, while front sump pans will have the drain plug on the bottom of the sump.

Front sump truck and motorhome pan. Be careful not to confuse these pans with rear sump pans.
One easy way to tell the difference is that rear sump pans will have the drain plug on the back of the pan, while front sump pans will have the drain plug on the bottom of the sump (as shown).

Shown above is original factory oil drain plugs.
